Join us on Thursday August 31 to enjoy a very special milonga with live music by the acclaimed Redwood Tango Trio!

When: 7 pm – 10:30 pm Thursday August 31, 2017 – right before Labor Day Weekend.

Where: Destination Swing dance floor, 2nd floor of the All American Sports Mall, 11133 Lindbergh Business Ct, St. Louis, MO 63123.
To reach the dance floor, go straight ahead through the main entrance of the building and find the stairs to the right about halfway down the wide hallway. The dance floor is larger than the floor at the Focal Point and there is plenty of additonal space off the floor as well.
(Note: the address is NOT on Lindbergh. Turn off Lindbergh onto St. John Church Road, which continues onto Lindbergh Business Ct.)

What: A milonga with two 45 minute sets of live music for dancing (starting at about 8 pm and 9:15 pm respectively), and music for dancing provided by a DJ (to be confirmed) before, between and after the live music.

Cost: $15 (cash only), which is a fantastic deal to hear and dance to the Redwood Tango Trio!
The band will also have at least two recent CDs for sale, so be sure to bring additional funds.

Food and drink: since the bar next door to the dance floor will be closed that evening, you are free to bring food and drink. As usual, we will supply snacks and water.

About Redwood Tango Trio: Redwood Tango Ensemble is a sextet from Oakland, California, dedicated to both traditional Argentine tango music and original tango composition. The ensemble’s arrangements are inspired by the styles of Anibal Troilo, Carlos DiSarli, Juan D’Arienzo, and other master orchestras in tango, which has made Redwood Tango popular among the dance communities in the bay area and on tour. Their signature is a growing repertoire of original compositions by bandoneonist Charles Gorczynski, centered around the creative and wide-reaching modern tango composers in Argentina and around the world. Redwood Tango Ensemble was the featured orchestra for Chicago Tango Week 2013 and 2015, and has performed for milongas in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Montreal, London, NYC, and dozens of cities in between. The group keeps a highly active presence in the bay area tango scene with over 80 performances each year, and tours as the full sextet, various trios, and the highly acclaimed bandoneon/guitar Maldito Tango Duo. The Ensemble will perform in St. Louis as a Trio, with keyboard, violin and bandoneon. Redwood Tango Trio last performed in St. Louis at the Tavern of the Fine Arts on September 22, 2104 and last played for a milonga here on July 7, 2013 at the Ritz Carleton. Web site:
